This is A NEW technological approach for curing light activated biomaterials.

The new light-curing unit is based on blue light emitting diodes (LED).                                

The main benefits of light emitting diode technology are: long life span, no need for filters or cooling fan and virtually no decrease of light output over the life time of the light curing unit.  The fact that light output is consistent over the life span of the unit ensures that cured material is always fully cured. The main problem with conventional halogen units is that the lamp, filter and reflector degrade with time. The heat generated by halogen lamps adversely affects filters and reflectors over time. Filters can undergo blistering, while reflectors discolor. This leads to a decrease of the blue flux and reduction in effectiveness of the curing unit. Also, the great deal of heat produced by halogen curing lamps requires intensive fan cooling.
